SOS Pack:
Curated Meditations

About to do something you might regret with your tech? How about listening to one of these meditations instead?!

One of the saddest things about the digital attention economy is the utter waste of human potential it provokes. There is so much to learn, so much to do, so much to enjoy, so much to contribute… all of which is lost when we surrender our agency to ravenous attention conglomerates. There are few things that are so polar opposite to mindless scrolling than meditation and the process of inner reflection and transformation it catalyzes.

One way to use this page is in an SOS moment (a moment that you are about to do something you’ll later regret on your phone or computer). Instead of slipping into some degrading compulsion you can just nip over here and listen to a meditation. Hopefully it leaves you refreshed and nourished, perhaps even ennobled. It’s a bit like when you’re about to reach for a Twinkie and you think better of it at the last minute and reach for the spinach.

You ever heard of Ajahn Sucitto, Ayya Santussika, Ajahn Brahm, Gil Fronsdale, Alan Wallace, Anam Thubten, or Rob Burbea? Neither had I! But they are now some of the most important voices in my life. Unfortunately, the loudest voices are rarely the wisest and the wisest voices are rarely the loudest. This page is about amplify voices of people who have devoted their lives to practice and study and speak from a place of love. You’ll find curated lists of some of my favorite teachers, mostly Buddhist monks and nuns, and some tracks that I created as well. This is the fruit of sifting through thousands of hours of audio recordings. I hope you enjoy! Be sure to sign up for email list if you want more. You’ll also find all of these resources on the From Love Network, a place to connect with others and dive deeper into this learning.

Mindfulness of Breathing

Paying attention to your body and your breath is an ancient and powerful meditation technique. It can offer an immensely effective balm for our nervous systems and also opens the door to a far deeper intimacy with ourselves and our world.

Compassion

Compassion and love are two of the most beautiful qualities in the world. For thousands of years Buddhists have been training them, devising ways to grow these virtues on purpose. What could be more worthwhile to cultivate?!

Mindfulness of Experience

Our experience is made up of a few core elements just as elements like carbon and oxygen form the building blocks of the chemical world. Refining out ability to attend vividly and clearly to each of these domains (the body, emotions, the environment, awareness, & thinking), leaves us much more empowered in how we navigate our lives.

Meditating with Music

Meditating with music can be a wonderful way to help the medicine go down easy. Here you’ll find a video outlining how to do it and a playlist.

I compiled this playlist out of some of the most beautiful music I’ve ever found. It pairs perfectly with guided meditations and dharma talks. If you want more playlists then check out the Tracks section in the From Love Network.
